Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Her father Elroy Fernandez is originally from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. There are two older brothers, and two younger ones. Parents have moved to Bahrain in the late 1980s as a result of the Lankan turmoil and she was born and raised in Bahrain. Schooling was finished in Bahrain and she received an Scholarship for an education at University of Sydney. There she graduated with a Media and Communications degree. To further develop her passion for the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz language schools in order to study Spanish as well as improve French as well as Arabic. In 2006, she won the Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March, 2006. She also participated in Miss Universe 2006. In 2006, she was awarded her the Miss Sri Lanka title. Then, she stepped into the world of television, hosting the show about Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone, her mother was the famous badminton star Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen and grew up in Bangalore. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport to become a fashion designer. Padukone is born in Mangalorean origin, and her mother tongue is Konkani. Padukone Village is located inside Kundapura Taluk within the Udupi Distric of Karnataka within India. Prakash Padukone is her father as well as a former badminton pro of international fame. Her mother works as an agent of travel.
